Avalon Keep: Dungeon DLC


Heavy Water’s Avalon apartment environment¬†was expanded upon with the Dungeon DLC. With this, players could access the depths of the Avalon Keep and participate in additional mini-games, gain access to new virtual items through the gift machine, and more – all without leaving their virtual apartment! This was the first of two DLC components that was planned for the Avalon Keep personal apartment space.


As the principle software developer and co-designer for this project, my contributions included:

  • Helped design the space and the larger Avalon universe that would be developed over the course of several months and releases
  • Introduction of the Crystal Hunt mini-game to the personal apartment where players could collect crystals throughout the space and turn them in for rewards
  • Allowed players to donate to their community coffers for additional virtual item rewards
  • Expanded the use of deferred asset loading within the Avalon Keep personal space
  • Responsible for all core mechanics of the environment
  • Assisted in quality assurance testing of game(s)
